Before I get my curly fringe or my purple rinse,
I want to climb again and sit upon the fence.

But I wouldn’t linger long,
to stay and watch the tree’s
for there would be too much to get,
including dirty knee’s.

For these are not just memories ,
of days that have gone by,

The ones that make me laugh for joy,
and the ones that make me cry.

It’s a gentle nudge to say
there’s still so much to learn

To look forward to new lessons,
and strive for all I yearn.
